We are so grateful to the spectacularly talented Jessica Duling for the beautiful painting we commissioned from her in honor of doras nua.
We are so fortunate to have an artist of Jessica Duling’s caliber in our community and we recommend her as highly as possible.
doras nua means a new door in Irish and this painting by the same name is of the magical garden doorway into the studio where we make music.
In every moment, we each have a choice to pass through a doorway of ‘then’ or a doorway of ‘now’.
Choosing ‘then’ is to be in the past or to be perseverating on the future whereas choosing ‘now’ is about being in the present moment as fully as possible.
We are socialized to always be choosing then so much so that choosing now takes a lot of conscious thought and commitment.
For this reason, it makes sense to think of the doorway of then as an old door and the doorway of now as a new door.
As musicians with a lot of big thoughts, consciously choosing a new door as much as we can, especially when we are making music together, is a gift and a relief.
We would love for you to join us in our endeavors to be here now.
