March Madness

We have so much going on this month that I’m afraid I’m posting after the fact for a couple of these events.

We had a wonderfully full day on Saturday playing for the Post-Parade Bash at the Col Ballroom in Davenport. Those folks in the St. Patrick Society in the Quad Cities know how to have a good time! My favorite part was seeing all of the multi-generational families celebrating together. I really hope we can find a way to bring our boys next year.

After a delicious dinner at La Flama, we played a ceili for another wonderful Quad Cities group, the Quad Cities Ceili Club with the fantastic caller Gerry Bade. The ceili took place at a beautiful space called QC SoDa (Quad Cities Social Dancing). It is an gorgeous and historic event space dedicated to social dancing.  Günter and Korah were so welcoming to our group.  We are the very first live band to play there in the year that it has been open!

Tonight we will be playing a family show at the Coralville Public Library. I’m looking forward to seeing a lot of our friends as well as some of my fiddle and Kindermusik students and their families. The final event before I leave for Ireland is a dinner show at the Celtic Knot in Evanston on St. Paddy’s Day beginning at 6:30 pm.

The next thing that you will see here on the blog is pictures and posts about my trip with my mother to her hometown of Swanlinbar, County Cavan, Ireland!  I’m nervous to be away from my boys but they will be having a fun week with their daddy and their grandma.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  How will you celebrate?

  1. I am very pleased you enjoyed the Col Bash with all the QC St. Patrick
Society members and their families. We are truly proud that this is a
family event and I have heard nothing but great comments about the entertainment you provided us. . Have a safe trip to Ireland.
