My students have amazed me once again with their preparation, courage, and energy. It was an inspiring afternoon of beauty and fun.
There were several hushed conversations in advance of the performance about the universal concern that perfection would not be achieved. This is why these kinds of experiences are so valuable. Perfection is never the goal nor the expectation.
As encouraging as it is to hear that your music was well received, the crucial lesson for many of us is that you put yourself out there, you survived and, in many cases, even loved the experience. You can’t really know that in your bones until you experience it firsthand.
Joe and I both accompanied the performers and were wrangling our own children so we weren’t able to get photos of everyone but if you have some great shots that we missed, please send them along and I will post them. There are lots of photos below so they might take a moment to load. Photo credit for the second to last photo goes to Bill Silverman. Photo credit for the last photo goes to Sarah McElligott.
Tara you look sooo cute and so do all your students! “Spreading the music all over the classroom.” HW & JW
