Irish Fiddle Workshop

I will be teaching an Irish fiddle workshop on Satuday, August 18 at West Music in Coralville.  I usually teach private lessons but working one on one and being only one person means that I’m not able to secure a weekly lesson time for everyone who approaches me about learning Irish fiddle.

In June, I offered a trial workshop and we had such a good time that I decided to try to offer them semi-regularly as my schedule allows.

The workshop is designed for musicians ages 10 and up who have been playing violin or another style of fiddle for five or more years and who have an interest in learning some Irish tunes and ornamentation.

The cost of the workshop is $25.  You are welcome to pay by check at the workshop or via PayPal.  If you wish to pay by PayPal, let me know so that I can send you an invoice.

There is also a suggested book The Irish Fiddle Book/CD by Matt Cranitch that is available for purchase at West Music if you’d like to take some of the music home with you.

If you’ve attended the workshop before, bring your book along so that you can take notes.

Date: Saturday, August 18
Time: 10 to 11:30 am
Location: West Music Recital Hall (located inside West Music in Coralville)
Please bring: your instrument, a music stand, the book (if you already have one), a pencil, and you’re welcome to bring a recording device if you would like to (not necessary).

Please let me know no later than Friday, August 10 if you’d like me to secure a place in the workshop for you.  I am going to keep the class small by design so don’t worry if it doesn’t work out to come this time as I will offer another sometime soon.
