We have a new tradition among my grade 7 and up musicians to have our annual performance at Uptown Bill’s instead of the concert hall. This concert took place on Saturday, March 29, 2014. All photos are by the multi-talented Brandi Janssen. Annie and I playing Christopher Twigg‘s ‘The Forgotten Chateau’ arranged by Kevin Burke… Read More McGovern Music Studio at Uptown Bill’s
Plenty of opportunities to catch some Irish music over the next several days! First, we’ll see you on Friday at 2 Dogs Pub. I recommend the black bean burger with teriyaki green beans. We’ll start playing at 8. Then on Saturday, we’re thrilled to be opening for Dervish at the Englert. Sunday is a day… Read More St. Paddy’s is upon us!
As a music teacher, one of the questions that I get most often from parents is “how early can we start music lessons?” The answer varies hugely from one child to another but without question, the best way to begin down the road of music making is to expose children to live music. As a… Read More Upcoming show at my favorite venue in Iowa City!
